The Typewriter: call for submissions

Ah, it's that time again!

I am delving head-first into reading submissions for the new volume of The Typewriter. I have to pinch myself when I think that this new volume is number five! It honestly seems like only yesterday that we were frantically scribbling out ideas for this online magazine on a measly scrap of paper whilst perusing the Morris & James pottery workshop in Matakana one blustery, humid (very southern hemisphere) Saturday afternoon. Who would have thought that six years and five volumes later, we would still be so tremendously excited to call for submissions for another volume of this online magazine?

Well, here I am, calling for submissions! So all you New Zealand, Australian and Asia-Pacific poets, get those pens/typewriters/laptops dusted off and get cracking (am I encouraging you yet?). We have already experienced a fabulous response to our call for submissions, but we are being greedy and want even more poets to submit! Especially those emerging poets, as well as those who have not graced us with their presence in The Typewriter yet - I'm always so very keen to open up the doors and welcome new writers.

It's a great idea to head over to The Typewriter and take a gander, see what we're all about and what sort of poetry has filled the previous volumes. Look no further: volume i, volume ii, volume iii, volume iv.

All one must do to submit some poetry to The Typewriter: send your beautifully strung-together gems in the body of an email to: typewriter.editor@gmail.com

We are reading all submissions over the course of the southern hemisphere summer - December and January - so you have plenty of time while lounging about and relaxing at the beach, the bach, the cafe to perfect those poems and send them to us! Please do all you wonderfully talented people!
