Nature in the Home: the (Christmas) table cornucopia
Although a touch tardy this week with the soothing Nature in the Home series, organised by the talented Lou, I think this week could be my favourite arrangement so far (!) The brief for the first week of Christmas (or rather December) was a table centrepiece.
I have boundless supplies of wisteria crawling up the side of our little abode, so a kernel of thought was hatched. It brewed for a good almost week and this morning I set about cutting, arranging and displaying.
If one can catch a glimpse of the vase in amongst all that overflowing greenery, it is my SylvaC lemon-shaded cornucopia vase - long, narrow and carved with sheaves of wheat. I give you the Christmas table cornucopia centrepiece.
PS - I should add that although this doesn't look particularly Christmassy, it's my way of bringing the southern hemisphere over. At this time of year, there is all that burgeoning, pale green life that I miss.

Very lovely...it looks like the table has sprouted to life...I miss our wisteria from the old house ~ it had done so well in the yrs we were there, but hoping to plant one here x
ReplyDeleteYes, doesn't it? A bit 'day of the triffids' in its excess!! :) Wisteria is such a beautiful twining climber. I think I love the movement and shapes of the branches as much as the delicate flowers. I recently discovered that they take 20 years to flower from seed - who knew they were such slow-moving growers? Always so lovely to have you pop by, Sarah-Lou :)
