On the bookshelf: for Christmas

Three little beauties (two New Zealand writers; one from further afield) that will be finding a spot on my Christmas lazy days reading list (some for a reread - I'm looking at you, Katherine!).

Poetry-wise, it is Janet Charman's 2012 collection, At the White Coast, published by AUP that I will be poring over, wringing all those London poems out and nodding in understanding at the haze of the antipodean traveller.

My picks for indulging in and supporting local this Christmas includes poetry collections from Anahera Press, Seraph Press, Hue & Cry and the new Eastbourne anthology from Makaro Press. All wonderful and worthy of kudos and support!

For the very, very best list of poetry books for 2013, do check out Paula Green's compilation of reader's picks on her fab poetry blog, NZ Poetry Shelf. It's so inspiring to see so many poetry readers and such great suggestions!
