This plant community is a wild, quivering clump of black-eyed susans, the ebony dried seed heads on earthy orange stems rallying among light grasses that can withstand the cold. They sit huddled against a crumbling purplish brick wall of a community garden. Inter-seasonal beauty at its bleakest and finest.
