Nature in the home: autumn making

So, nature in the home week two - this week was making! Gosh, there are so many talented people who have made beautiful nature-inspired or foraged displays. I am quite in awe (and a little shy!).

Taking my cue from the blustery, autumnal weather outdoors and the parched and crinkled trees, leaves and splitting conkers, I dried some bunches of flowers and foliage. Drying is so easy to do and needs only flowers/foliage, string, scissors and a leatherman (with a nail or two) for hanging. Time is the integral ingredient.

In retrospect, I really loved the contrasting stems (of all things!) of my dried arrangement - the cerise pinks clashing with the peaty olives and nut-browns. Just a simple hanging, but one that makes me smile each time I walk past it.
