Writing and receiving letters is one of my most cherished ways of connecting with others (oh, Forster! How much I love Howard's End). I keep them all - those to send and those received - in a '60s lemon kitchen larder cabinet with drawers that stick. My pens sit in a chipped enamel cup with bits of yarn, rubber bands and pins.
I make my own paper, using thick, slightly off-white sheets that are printed with my address and a small watercolour sketch as a header. Every so often I need a new watercolour sketch, so the watery colour wells appear.
